Many people fail to earn money when blogging for money because they do not pick a profitable keyword. Many people think that the way to make money is drive hordes of traffic to their website via any way possible. They think that lots of traffic equals lots of money, no matter the topic.
However, choosing the right keyword can earn you a lot of money or cause you to waste time. The first thing you should do when finding a niche is to brainstorm KW terms. If you do not have any idea of what to write about, think of topics that interest you or that you know a lot about. Are you a nurse and know a lot about how to quit smoking? Have you tried out a specific product and know a lot about it? Write down everything that you think you can write a lot about and build a list of words.
After you have a list of all your keywords, you should start eliminating keywords that do not have buying potential. The reason you should eliminate keywords that do not have buying power is because the whole purpose of driving people to your website is have them click on your Google Ads. If you have a blog about “apples”, do you think people are going to click on your ads (highly doubtful)?
Think of variations of your keyword that have buyer potential. Instead of “apples”, how about the keyword phrase “buy gourmet apple pies”? “Buy” keywords tend to do well for click through rates as the people are looking to buy something when they type in “buy (keyword)” in Google. These type of people are more likely to click on ads to get more information on purchase a product.
